The movie is released now and Shahid must be having lots of hope from this movie. If we talk about the overall performance of the movie, then there are lots of ups and downs. However, the trailer of the movie was awesome, but the movie is not as it was being expected from all of us.But still the film is a bit entertaining one, especially in the first half. The duration of the film is around 2 hours and 26 minutes.
In the movie Phata Poster Nikla Hero,Shahid (Vishwas Rao) plays the character of an ambitious person with lots of hopes and high dreams in order to achieve something in life.
At the same time Padmini Kohlapuri who is playing the role of his mother is much ambitious like her son and wants him to become an honest and brave police inspector.The movie has all the drama, action and comedy.
As the story goes further, Shahid Kapoor (Vishwas Rao) comes to Mumbai in order to become a brave police inspector, his life takes a turn and he just ends up wearing a costume of a Police Inspector.
The film also witnesses the presence of Salman Khan but for only two minutes. He meets him as a stranger. Salman's presence in the movie is a guest appearance.
The so called mother son relationship in the film is the main motivating factor which made the people glued to their seats in theatres and off course to watch Shahid performing in the film.

After a while everybody including Mumbai police and goons believes that Shahid Kapoor (Vishwas Rao) is in fact a real police officer. However, he along with his mother is caught in the crossfires between the Police and Gundappa gang.
According to movie's review, Shahid Kapoor initially struggles a bit in his role, but finally manages to perform well after putting all his expressions.
As the story of the film goes on, Shahid shows his love in Kajal (Ileana D'cruz) who was last seen in Barfi. Her only aim, being a social worker in life is to lodge FIRs against wrong people.
If we talk about Ileana D'cruz, she is looking absolute stunning in the film with short waistline with bubbly eyes.
The movie's first half is made with lots of dialogues, light moments and comedy. we really enjoyed watching first half whereas the second half is just opposite, as the director Raj Kumar Santoshi forgot in the second half that he has made a comedy.
One thing more, the climax of the film is made like Ajab Prem ki.. which was Santoshi's last with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. It seems that Santoshi had some even memories of his last film which he puts in this movie, as the story is written by himself.
As far as Shahid Kapoor is concerened, the character which he plays in the movie perfectly suits him as a police inspector.
