 It was her first movie which she did at the age of 17. She was then nominated as the best début female artist in Film fare awards. The role played by her in the movie was admired a lot by the people from inside as well as outside the film industry.

Early Life

Jiah Khan was born in New York and brought up in Chalesea, London. Her father was Indian American and mother was an Indian actress who belonged to Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Her father's name was Ali Rizvi Khan and mother was Rabiya Amin Khan. She has two siblings by the name Kavita and Karishma.

She was a student of Arts and Literature in London but then moved to New York again to studuy Edexcel O and A level certification programme which she qualified in flying colours.

She also got trained in singing and was a trained Opera singer and had recorded as many as 7 pop tracks at the age of 16. She was then offered a role in a film which she rejected at that time as she wanted to concentrate on her learnings.

Jiah Khan dreamt of entering into Bollywood at the age of 6 when she first watched a movie of Ram Gopal Verma starring Urmila Matondkar. The name of the movie was Rangeela. She was so inspired by the movie that she decided to make it to Bollywood some day.

If we talk about her looks then its needless to say anything on that front. She was a dam looking actress. Some people say that she had an impressive and seductive looks.

Career

In the year 2004 when Jiah Khan was just 16 years old, she was offered a role in a film but then it was realised that the role would not suit her as it would fit for someone matured. The same role was then offered to Dia Mirza.

Three years later in the year 2007 she appeared in a movie Nishabdd opposite Amitabh Bachhan. Although the character which she played at that time was too bold for her but she still managed the role well. After her performance, she was surrounded with hundreds of admirers. She was also nominated as the best female debut actress in Film Fare Awards. 

The next year, she appeared in yet another though an action Film, Ghajni,starring Amir Khan and Asin. The film was a big hit and there were all praises for the film all over. As far as Jiah Khan was concerned she got a mixed reaction from the people in the film industry.

She had also shot for a film Chance Pe Dance opposite Shahid Kapoor but then replaced with Genelia D'souza. She later interviewed that she was replaced as the role did not suit to her. 

She last appeared in a film where she played a supporting role in the movie Houseful of Sajid Khan, starring Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Deepika Padukone in the year 2010.

It's said that she also signed three South Indian films before her death.

Achievements

She was the fresh face of Wranglor Jeans and so became the first Wrangler girl in the country and also became the brand ambassador of Taj group. Not only this, she was socially concious and was even attached with several organizations like to raise money for relief funds or giving speeches may be on World Aids day.

Before her death, she also signed some Hollywood projects.

Jiah Khan was most satisfied when she got the compliment from Amir Khan related to her work. Amir told her mother that she was selected for the film Ghajni due her own hard work and talent. She was most satisfied by the compliments from a person like Amir Khan, who is infarct one of the best actor in the history of Indian cinema.

Death

Although, Jiah Khan was busy in her filmi career, but somewhere inside of her heart, she was not well. Most of the time she remained in depression. When the news of her suicide came in , everybody thought that she ended her life as she was not getting good films and she was tensed because of her career.

Jiah Khan committed suicide by hanging herself when she was alone in her Juhu house. Her mother and sisters were not home at that time of doing the act. 

A lot of famous personalities were present at the time when her body was being taken. She was finally buried at Juhu Muslim Cementary.

After three days of her death, a five page suicide note was found from her room which again started controversies as the letter was infarct written by her or not. In the connection of this suicide case, some letters were also found at Suraj Pancholi's house who was then later arrested.

Suraj Pancholi who is the son of a noted film star Aditya Pancholi was arrested as he was living allegedly in a live in relationship with her. But later it was proved that he had no connection in this suicide case. Finally Bombay High Court gave him bail on July 2, 2013.
