Miss Universe-Philippines, Ariella Arida

Miss Philippines Ariella Arida has emerged as one of the favorite contestants at the 62nd Miss Universe beauty pageant. After Megan Young was crowned the Miss World, the pressure is on Arida to win the Miss Universe 2013 title and come to the category of miss universe winners.

But will she manage to win and follow the path of Indian beauties Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sushmita Sen since their crowning glory in 1994.

Aishwarya was crowned Miss World in 1994 and in the same year Sushmita Sen won the Miss Universe title.

The double win was repeated after Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra won the Miss Universe and Miss World titles, respectively, in 2000.

Apart from Indians, beauty queens from France, Venezuela and Austria have also scored double crowns.

From France, Christiane Martel was crowned Miss Universe and Denise Perrier won the Miss World title in 1953.

Irene Sáez and Pilín León from Venezuela won the Miss Universe and Miss World titles, respectively, in 1981.

Australian beauties Kerry Anne Wells and Belinda Green were crowned with the coveted Miss Universe and Miss World titles in 1972.

Last month, Young beat 126 other contestants from around the world to win the Miss World title. Since the begining of the Miss Universe competition had begun, Arida has come out as one of the strongest contestants in the pageant held in Moscow Russia.

Arida stood out in all the pre-pageant activities, starting from the welcome dinner to posing for Yamamay Ice Princess themed bikinis and swimsuits portraits. The Filipina has set a very strong and positive impression.

During the Tony Ward Couture Fashion Show held on 26 October Arida walked the ramp twice in the designer's collection.

She was among the top five contestants who now want to come to the category of miss universe winners, who were earlier selected for a television advertisement of luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz. However, as per predictions, Arida is in line for the coveted crown.  

According to reports, the betting lines have also forecasted that the Philippines will win the title after 40 years.

The Miss Universe 2013 will be shown Nov. 9 at the Crocus Hall in Moscow, Russia where the most beautiful women from all over the world will battle for Nexus crown.

Crowd favorite and the Philippines' pride Ariella Arida has become a frontrunner in this year's Miss Universe pageant. Aside from  being a Filipina beauty, there have been a lot of news about her that flood the social media sites.

Recently, Arida was a victim of racism that brought upon her harsh tweets sent by Miss Brazil, a fellow Miss Universe candidate. But the two showed the world that such things weren't true as they became friends while in Moscow, Russia.

The Philippines can certainly be proud of Arida being chosen by Mercedes-Benz to star in its commercial. Only six Miss Universe candidates were chosen and Miss Philippines got picked.

Despite being a favorite, the world has yet to know more about this lady. She may be beautiful in the eyes of the other countries but they have yet to see her funny and quirky side.

The official You Tube site of the Miss Universe pageant released a video of the different delegates around the world playing the conventional game, "Truth and Dare," which was like the Q&A portion in the Miss Universe pageant.

American Horror Story’ Season 3 Spoilers

American Horror Story” giveth and “American Horror Story” taketh away. Season 3 of the FX mini-series, “Coven” premiered on Wednesday, Oct. 9 and introduced new characters. Unfortunately, episode 1, “Bitchcraft,” also killed off a few new characters.

Evan Peters has been with “American Horror Story” since it first began with the “L.A. Murder House.” Needless to say, viewers were shocked when the show killed off his character, Kyle, in a gruesome car accident, courtesy of scorned witch, Madison (Emma Roberts).

However, in true “American Horror Story” fashion, there's a twist -- Kyle isn’t dead for good.

Wednesday, Oct. 9 was a big night for Sir Maejor. Relatively new to the entertainment industry, the 25-year-old albino actor made his debut on the brand new season of FX’s hit mini-series, “American Horror Story.”

Sir Maejor was featured in one of the beginning scenes of the “Coven” premiere as an “Albino Guard” to Frances Conroy’s witchy character, Myrtle. After Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) discovered that she is a descendant of the Salem witches, Myrtle arrived at her house with three guards to take the teen away to a special school in New Orleans, Miss Robichaux’s.

As we previously reported, episode 2, “Boy Parts,” will find Supreme Witch Fiona (Jessica Lange) helping Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) and Madison “deal with a horrible tragedy.” What is the tragedy in question? A magic-induced car crash that killed seven fraternity brothers -- a majority of whom had taken turns raping a drugged Madison.

In episode 3, “The Replacements,” Zoe will be guilt ridden and trying to give Kyle his “old life back” --a la “Frankenstein.”

“Evan’s story kicks off in episode 2,” Murphy teased E! Online. “The big girl story is that Zoe and Madison go to the morgue. Taissa is obviously in love with Evan’s character, and they find out that the boys are badly, badly mangled and decapitated.”

According to Murphy, Emma Roberts character (who is Evan Peters real life girlfriend) will “build the perfect boyfriend” by taking Evans head and using “other parts that she desires.”

Using a spell, the girls will bring Franken-Kyle back from the dead, but the twist is that he won’t be speaking in the first seven episodes. “We had to do a lot with body language and mime,” Murphy explained. “I made him watch ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ several times.”

Since “American Horror Story: Coven” is still filming, it’s unknown if Ryan Murphy’s photo was taken recently or a shot from earlier filming. The blood Kyle is drenched in could be his own from the accident, or he could possibly become a Franken-killer by the end of the season.

Sandra Bullock shows off her perfect pins in short dress at Gravity premiere

HER FILM has already broken US box office records, so it was no wonder Sandra Bullock oozed confidence as she arrived on the red carpet for the London premiere of gravity earlier tonight.

The actress - who has been in the UK for most of this week - looked stunning as she made her way into the Leicester Square venue in a gorgeous lace mini dress.

Showing off her incredible figure, the 49-year-old looked half her age as she posed up a storm for the waiting photographers, ensuring she was the centre of attention amongst the host of famous faces.

She opted for a rather unusual dress, which featured a black lace overlay on top of a cream slip, and showed her trim and toned legs off to perfection.

Elongating her pins with a pair of peep toe heels, the star has all eyes on her as she added to the drama of her look with a sweep of dark red lipstick.

The Proposal actress wore her brunette tresses down and in a slight tousled wave and opted for a smokey eye.

But making sure the gorgeous dress was the key element of her look, she steered clear of any jewellery, keeping her look simple and clean.

Sandra is certainly making a name for herself in the fashion world after sporting a number of high end looks recently, including the androgynous ensemble she opted for yesterday.

The Academy Award winner wore a crisp white shirt underneath a single breasted blazer for a private screening of the film, held at the BAFTA building in Mayfair.

She teamed them with a pair of matching skinny trousers and some strappy heels, which showed off her impressively lithe legs.
